Only noticed since installing 1.8.14 two days ago. Right click menu still works fine. Possibly related to https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3110 But I doubt it since that was 13 years ago and it fixed itself? Xubuntu 19.10
Cannot reproduce. Just build 1.8.14 from source .. F2 works fine here. Possibly F2 is bound to something else on your system ? As well check: ~/.config/Thunar/accels.scm The default is the commented out line: ; (gtk_accel_path "<Actions>/ThunarStandardView/rename" "F2") You can remove the colon to explicitly use something different (or just try F2 explicitly): (gtk_accel_path "<Actions>/ThunarStandardView/rename" "F2") Afterwards you need to quit and restart thunar(kill the daemon): thunar -q;thunar Does that help ? Does it work if you use some other shortcut? Do other shortcuts work, e.g. CTRL+C, etc ?
Hi Alex, Nothing else bound; Alt+F2 is xfrun4 in Keyboard, Ctrl+F2 is Workspace2 in Window Manager. But both of those are defaults I've never used or changed. No change with the accels.scm fix; other shortcuts Do work (ctrl+C etc) which gets me thinking that maybe my function keys aren't being passed correctly/at all. Possibly a BIOS issue. Will reboot test & report back. Apologies if that's the case - I guess I hardly ever use the Function keys!
Didn't see any function key options in the BIOS but there was a new BIOS version available which has completely bricked my machine, alas, so I'm now back on my old laptop. F2 working fine on Thunar 1.8.9 with same keyboard though I think it's more likely it was a 'xubuntu-not-registering-function-keystrokes' issue than a Thunar one.
urgh .. thats very unpleasant :/ Ok, so I will close the bug for now .. if you should observe it again, feel free to reopen !
Will do, cheers muchacho, have a good weekend.
F2 now works after (possibly) fixing BIOS issues. Thunar not to blame. Cheers!
Pleased to hear so :) Thanks for the info !
