It'd be super cool to have an 'Open Terminal Here' option in this right-click context menu

I often find myself expecting to be able to right-click on any directory shown in the Location Selector and being able to select 'Open Terminal Here', when the Location Selector is shown Pathbar Style. This includes the current directory and all its parents up to '/'.

Similarly, I also find myself expecting to be able to right-click anywhere in the Location Selector when it is shown Toolbar Style and being able to select 'Open Terminal Here' (the target would be the the current directory, obviously).

Finally, I habitually view directions in Detailed List view, where only the subdirectories and white space (but not files in the current directory) will show the 'Open Terminal Here' option. Since there *is* no white-space in Detailed List View (because, if there are enough items in the directory to 'overflow' your window size, you always end up selecting an element even if you attempt to right-click in a seemingly blank area of a file entry in a column) it would be nice if right-clicking on a file in Detailed List View would show the option 'Open Terminal Here' and when clicked, would open said Terminal in the directory in which the file I just right-clicked resides.

Do any of you gentlemen see value in such an enhancement? =)

P.S. I hope I have chosen the correct component. I use the XFCE spin of Fedora 19 x86-64:

... so, it appears that I'm not the first one to make a similar request. I have taken the liberty of referencing the similar reports I managed to find. =)

Thanks for the reports, ermo. I've done a bit of BZ cleanup:

- Bug 2946 addresses "Open Terminal" for current+parent folders in button location mode.
- Bug 2444 addresses "Open Terminal" for current folder in toolbar location mode.
- This report extends 2444 for parent folders in toolbar location mode.

Regarding right-clicking files, I believe this could be quite confusing. If the file has a way of being executed, there'll be a dual way of understanding this: "Open the container folder in a terminal" or "Execute this within a terminal so I can monitor it". I'd rather we stuck to improving the location bar.

Both 2444 and 2946 have been added to easyfix. I propose to wait a bit for this one since it's more of an edge feature.

Resolving this as duplicate because parts of this bug report are, and the issue with white-space in details view has been improved in recent versions.
