Benedikt asked a person to remind him of this feature request, maybe as a plugin: http://mail.xfce.org/pipermail/thunar-dev/2006-January/001695.html Five years after that, I had the courage to bring this up again, in the hope the feature I have always waited in Thunar to be implemented! I always (read always) need to run some command on the current directory. Right clicking and opening a terminal window is not practical, because I change directories and the terminal doesn't follow, so I always end up using the Midnight Commander and leave Thunar mostly for organizing things like images and videos, because of the thumbnails. I'm not requesting anything fancy: just a simple terminal widget that uses the same font as the xfce4-terminal, and that follows the current directory. Updating external changes is already handled by Thunar! Thank you!
You might want to try another file manager. It is very unlikely this will be implemented in thunar.
