I love shortcuts to avoid my mouse as often as possible (it's a PITA on a subnotebook) and one thing that bothers me is that I can only assign 10 shortcuts. Why that? Would it eat too much ressources if you'd change that to 32 or 64 as a workaround and maybe make this configurable in a later version? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
the number of shortcuts depend on Xfwm4, so it's up to Olivier to decide, altough i think he'll be against i reassign the bug to him
Maybe a "More shortcuts" triangle thingy would be best. I don't believe newbies will be intimidated by this sort of thing (usual case against more options). Furthermore, they don't usually use keyboard shortcuts. ~30 shortcuts should be more than enough. Thanks in advance.
Most people do not use shortcuts on their desktop PCs, but if you are using XFCE on a Laptop or Subnotebook like me, you are grateful for every possibility to avoid using the touchpad. That said I guess I'd be happy with 30 shortcuts and would disagree that a user would be confused if he'd see a list of 30 "empty" shortcuts instead of 10... It's not like addiing more options, it's just expanding the items allowed for one option. People who do not care about shortcuts are in no way disturbed or affected by this modification, but those few shortcut-fans (like me) would really appreciate a few more of them. Thanks for considering it, I know there are tons of other important things to do but I'd think it is a minor modification. If someone would point me to the sourcecode, I'd do it (even only for myself, if nobody else wants it or the maintainers are against it). Kind regards, Heiko
Shortcuts are unlimited in xfce 4.4 and use a separate MCS plugin (ie the window manager is not used as an application launcher anymore)
