Salix OS has its own Administration tools which are listed under the System entry of the main menu of Xfce and under System/Admin in the main menu of its MATE desktop edition. I suggest to add an 'Administration' entry which will be referred to with X-XFCE-AdminSettings and will be used for system Administrative tools. i.e. Categories=X-XFCE;Settings;DesktopSettings;X-XFCE-SettingsDialog;X-XFCE-AdminSettings;Application;System; BTW, The Xfce desktop environment is the leading or premier desktop of the Salix OS GNU/Linux distribution.
You can add this yourself in the menu file.
How can I add new title entries to xfce4-settings-manager? I am aiming at xfce4-settings-manager, not the main menu of Xfce.
Since 4.10, you can modify this file: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/tree/xfce4-settings-manager/xfce-settings-manager.menu Copy a section and add a corresponding .directory file (those are part of garcon).
Thank you. I still think that adding an xfce-administration.directory for an Administration category is appropriate. I have already proposed to integrate Salix Tools into xfce4-settings-manager at salix-main mailing-list http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=20130703155253.284390%40gmx.com&forum_name=salix-main Distributions can use xfce-administration.directory and rename Administration into whatever they may want (e.g. Salix Tools).
