On fedora 17, locale it-IT, if I try to rename multiple files (whatever the amount), I can't do anything because typing in the text areas won't have any effect. The rest, like removing characters or numbering without custom text, which require only dropdowns, work.
Hi Federico, I am not entirely sure what problem you are experiencing. Do you mean that: - you are unable to type any text in the text fields? - you can type text in e.g., Search and Replace but the filenames on the right hand side do not get updated with the "Replace"? If so, are you *sure* the "Search" text matches anything? - you can type text in "Insert/Overwrite" but it doesn't update the filenames on the right hand side? Thanks.
Hi, thanks for replying. I've stopped using thunar long ago because of this bug, so I almost unlearnt how to use it. As far as I can remember, it was "you are unable to type any text in the text fields?", yes. I've tried now by opening Bulk Rename 1.6.3 from the applications and I couldn't reproduce. I don't currently have Thunar in context dialogs of dolphin so I can't test that case.
Thanks Federico, I can't reproduce your issue either with Thunar's context menu or "thunar -B". Did you handle any files with specific/uncommon encodings at that time?
If UTF-8 is uncommon, it's possible, as I often do.
Also cannot reproduce with UTF-8. As a last check, do you have any Thunar plugins installed? If so, which ones? I had a quick look at thunar-renamer-dialog and could not find any changes to the sensitivity of the text fields, so I cannot explain how the fields could have been impossible to type into. I propose this bug should be closed as WORKSFORME, and it can be reopened later if someone finds a way to trigger the issue.
It's possible that I used to have some plugins which I now don't have, but I can't remember. Closing is fine, thanks for the patience.
