When changing preferences for when my computer is on battery, the "when laptop is closed" dropdown list has no hibernate option. The listed options are "Nothing", "Suspend" and "Lock Screen". This same drop down for w hen it is on A/C power has the "Hibernate" option available. I don't see why this shouldn't also be available when using battery power. I'm using a dell inspiron mini running linux mint 13 maya.
Hi Daniel, I have used hibernate luckily in battery mode. So I guess it has to do with your hardware or your configuration settings. Could you provide more information? Try - when you are on battery - especially the following commands and post the outputs. $ xfce4-power-manager --dump $ upower -d $ swapon -s Maybe it's similiar to my bug #9287.
Whether hibernate is available as an option usually depends on the policies your system has set for it, the power-manager only reacts to the policies. Consequently, this isn't a bug in the power-manager.
