version : 4.2.1 i install manually xfce from the source. when i launch xfprint4 in a terminal it appears : ** ERROR **: Unable to load printing system module file_plugin.so aborting... Abandon and xfprint4 stop. I don't find a file_plugin.so next the "./configure && make" in the src directory of xprint-4.2.1. I download xfprint-4.2.0 and i find a file_plugin.so in the xfce-4.2.0/printing-systems/file/.libs/file_plugin.so directory after "./configure && make" . => the file file_plugin.so is not created by xfprint 4.2.1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. download xfrint-4.2.1.tar.gz;tar xzvf xfrint-4.2.1.tar.gz;cd xfprint-4.2.1;./configure && make && su -c "make install" 2. run xfprint4 in a terminal NB : if you install first xfprint-4.2.0 and next xfprint-4.2.1 the error doesn't appears as file_plugin.so is installed by xfprint-4.2.0 Actual Results: ** ERROR **: Unable to load printing system module file_plugin.so aborting... Abandon appears in the terminal and xfprint4 stop I install xfce-4.2.1 from the *.tar.gz files not from a package. first install of xfce : a latest version of xfce is not installed.
I can verify that this problem occurs in 4.2.1.1. file_plugin.so is not in lib/xfce4/xfprint-plugins. (strange how this bug occurred in 4.2.1.1? everything seem fine in 4.2.0)
it's because the FILE plugin has been remove before 4.2.1 under (justified) user demands but i did it quickly didn't test enough. I'm really busy these days i hope i'll find some time this w-e to fix it.
should be fixed now, please try it (CVS xfce_4_2 branch)
