the respective .desktop file in /usr/share/xfce4/panel-plugins uses "gtk-paste" in its "Icon=" line.
please replace that by something more meaningful (and theme-ingful ;) ) like "xfce4-timer-plugin".
that's a really easy-to-fix bug: the generic "xfce4-clock" could be used for this or alternatively the even more generic "clock".
