The program took my changes; there seems to have been no problem there. I've tried changing them again, but now everything works.

Hi, This bug is quite old, but should probably remain open as it indicates a problem in the code base. Jannis, Benedikt, can you tell if _thunar_vfs_path_shutdown has unit tests or fuzz tests in place? If not, the suggested action would be to strengthen testing around this function to catch potential issues.
thunar-vfs has been archived ages ago. Closing won't fix.
