Thunar-shares-plugin works fine un Xubuntu/Lubuntu/*buntu but not in Debian, i'm using Xubuntu 10.04, Lubuntu 10.04, Sidux, and Debian Testing (LXDE) I tested thunar-shares-plugin in Xubuntu and it worked fine, worked fine in Lubuntu too, but it doesn't in Debian, and I don't know why. I downloaded the pluging here: http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php?release=Isadora-Xfce A .deb file, and I used this manual: http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/thunar-plugins/thunar-shares-plugin#setup-samba I installed samba and libpam-smbpass, created a group: export USERSHARES_DIR="/var/lib/samba/usershares" export USERSHARES_GROUP="sambashare" mkdir -p ${USERSHARES_DIR} groupadd ${USERSHARES_GROUP} chown root:${USERSHARES_GROUP} ${USERSHARES_DIR} chmod 01770 ${USERSHARES_DIR} smb.conf edited: [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP security = share usershare path = /var/lib/samba/usershares usershare max shares = 100 usershare allow guests = yes usershare owner only = yes usermod -a -G ${USERSHARES_GROUP} My_Username Samba restarted /etc/init.d/samba restart And finally I restarted the computer... Now I can see the "Share page" in the properties, and I can "share the folder", but when i try to access into the folder using my network, it doesn't work, i got and error message (in spanish) Falló al montar la compartición Windows (Failed mounting the Windows sharing) La ubicación especificada no está montada (Specified location is not mounted) I don't know what is happening, it works nice in *buntu, but not in Debian/Sidux
