I listed the bug report in the Gmail component, but this also affects IMAP. Mailwatch will often (regularly?) start using 100% of the CPU for periods of up to 5-10 sec. From the log file that I set up here, it seems that the issue arises when there is temporary loss of internet connection. There are many recurring messages, but I *think* the following ("CRITICAL") lines are related to the 100% CPU issue. In some instances the plug-in crashes, but I haven't yet managed to obtain a debug on this. liviu@debian-liv:~$ uname -a Linux debian-liv 2.6.30-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 15 18:09:19 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux liviu@debian-liv:~$ aptitude show xfce4-mailwatch-plugin Package: xfce4-mailwatch-plugin State: not installed [built from source] Version: 1.1.0-2 DBG[mailwatch-mailbox-gmail.c:300] gmail_check_atom_feed(): p=0x7fffea161445, q=0x7fffea161451 DBG[mailwatch-mailbox-gmail.c:351] gmail_check_mail(): checked gmail, 0 new messages DBG[mailwatch-mailbox-gmail.c:276] gmail_check_atom_feed(): got opening <fullcount> tag: '<fullcount>0</fullcount> <link rel="alternate" href="http://mail.google.com/mail" type="text/html" /> <modified>2009-12-10T11:55:59Z</modified> </feed> ' DBG[mailwatch-mailbox-gmail.c:300] gmail_check_atom_feed(): p=0x7fffeae5344a, q=0x7fffeae53456 DBG[mailwatch-mailbox-gmail.c:351] gmail_check_mail(): checked gmail, 0 new messages DBG[mailwatch-net-conn.c:291] xfce_mailwatch_net_conn_get_connect_status(): checking for a connection...
