Created attachment 2625 Thunar enhancement for disk's space and other ... Hi all: We have done some enhancement based on Thunar's version which I git from "git://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar" at 09,16 2009. The enhancement is as following 1, can show the available disk space 2, can show the available space of the mounted removable device, and add an "eject button" to unmount it. 3, show a notification once the removable device is removed unsafely 4, Auto-refresh the removable device once a copying operation done These enhancement can make Thunar more user friendly, it is useful for some computer newbies to use the Thunar, which has been verified in our project. you can check the attach file : Thunar-enhancement-git-version-20090916.patch

I have also tried to merge these enhancement based on the newest [10,23 2009]'s git version, but I found this version couldn't compiled in my develop environment [fedora core 11].
Can you attach the stock icon to this bug? I can't build the patch without it.
Created attachment 2662 stock icon sorry for my late reply
Created attachment 2663 more enhancement bug fix and multi-language support

This looks nice, but I'd incorporate the size-label in the progressbar, then this line wouldn't look so "fat" in the treeview. While it seems to be more conventional to show the free space in the label, it'd intuitively make more sense to me personally if it displayed the space that is in use – especially in combination with the progressbar, which highlights the space that is taken, not the one that is free. (In the screenshot: 14,4GB / 48.1GB) But that might just be me...
What about putting this in a tooltip of a device?
(In reply to comment #8) > What about putting this in a tooltip of a device? Not a bad idea. Would definitely keep the visual appearance cleaner. What about showing some kind of visual change in the label though when the free space is below a critical amount (e.g. 5% on /) ?
Is this still being looked into? > What about showing some kind of visual change in the label Based on this screenshot https://wiki.xfce.org/_media/design/thunar/thunar_fs-bars_.png , * the disk space bar could turn primary RED when free space is below 10% * a tooltip showing this information on hover would be ice Size: 100GB Used: 83GB (83%) Free: 17GB (17%)
Actually I already have thisbug on my personal TODO list ;) The bad news: My personal list is very long, and currently I dont have much time for xfce. :[

Hello there, I am adding myself to this discussion. In addition to the feature discussed above, could we also have Thunar trigger a periodical low disk space desktop notification? For example, trigger every 4 hours or similar. Looking forward to your thoughts. 👋🙂

Cron/Anacron can be used for such services. Though I agree that it would be nice to have a GUI in order to manage periodic services, like checking for full disks, doing backups and other stuff. Actually, before I maintained thunar, I started to work on something like that, though both projects are stalled, unfinished, and still need alot of work. Not to mention that I was not much into gtk at that time. Please feel free to fork them, or to start a new one .. possibly you can reuse parts of my work: https://github.com/alexxcons/anacron-gui https://github.com/alexxcons/cron-gui
