Created attachment 2543 Only link menu-plugin to Thunar VFS libraries w/ file-icons 1. Install Thunar 2. Install xfdesktop without file-icons, thunarx, etc. to make it not use Thunar 3. Decide you don't like Thunar and uninstall it 4. Menu-plugin breaks, because xfce4_desktop_menu.so is linked automagically to Thunar VFS libraries 5. Forced to reinstall xfdesktop :-/ Attached patch fixes the issue, but I don't know if this is the logic you want...

Hmm, that's not the right fix. Should have a separate configure flag because they're for two different features. Not really sure I care to fix this, though, since thunar-vfs is going away entirely.

Feel free to close it as INVALID then. We are fine with the temp. hack while waiting for the release without Thunar VFS since I'm not sure if I care either enough to write a more decent patch for it specially now. ;-)
This one is fixed with xfdesktop-4.7.x. Thanks for 4.8.0_pre1 again :-)
