In some windows manager, it is possible to cycle windows (atl-tab)/virtual desktops while performing a drag and drop. This functionality is extremely useful to move a file from a file manager to another for example. The feature is lacking in Gnome/Metacity as well and a bug report has been filled for that. See: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135056 The reason I quote this bug is that a patch (at least a hack) has been submited. "Unfortunatly" the patch is for metacity, not for gtk, so we cannot directly benefit from it in xfce. However the diagnosis and the modification made to the code are perhaps transposable to xfce.

Verified that drag & drop when changing dekstop (Ctrl Alt Arrow) works
