Description Pascal 2009-02-13 13:30:09 CET
I have a bug on one of the software I used with the compositing on. The
shadow of the window remains even if the window is not on the
foreground. I don't know if it's due to xfce or the software.

No problem with other softwares on xfce, no problem either with this
particular software with a different desktop, although, I am not sure
if they are using compositing.

An illustration of the problem is here :

The software I am talking about is this one:
http://www.cryst.chem.uu.nl/platon/

Steps I used to produce the bug. Better do it after a clean
X start.

1- launch platon this way : "platon LUSCOR.cif" [1]
2- on the right menu, Just under OptionMenus, clic on the third button.
Yes, the space between the ticks are buttons :)
3- You'll have a setwindowsize entry, make it smaller and the bug
appears in theory...

If the bug doesn't show up close it and do it again. Usually it shows
up on second time but I manage to get it the fisrt time as well... Don't
ask why...

One thing I am sure, when the bug is on and I change the window size
again, the bug usually disappear and I can't get it again unless I
restart X.

Comment 1 Pascal 2009-02-15 10:46:01 CET
I can't reproduce it with nv and vesa.
Comment 2 Olivier Fourdan editbugs 2009-02-16 16:58:42 CET
I fail to reproduce this bug, on two difference systems, one using an NVidia card with "nouveau" driver, and another one using an Intel card.
Comment 3 Olivier Fourdan editbugs 2009-02-16 17:00:15 CET
If the problem appears only with "nvidia" proprietary driver, it's unlikely a bug in the compositor.
