From time to time xfce4-session login becomes very slow. Then after completing login, the Settings 'Session and Startup' session window is empty, not showing any running application, although xfdesktop, xfwm4 are running. Sometimes the panel is running too but sometimes it came up and disappeared. To get a normal session login again, the login procedure has to be repeated a number of times. Maybe this occasional problem could be due to some panel plugin?
Please attach your session file. Should be ~/.cache/sessions/xfce4-session-$HOSTNAME$DISPLAY.
Created attachment 2037 cache xfce4-session Again a very slow login and an empty session window. The panel disappeared and I restarted it in a terminal.
Er, 'sessions and startup' dialog isn't in your session. There's no way it can start up unless you somehow put it in autostart... or if this isn't the right session file.
Created attachment 2038 cache xfce4-session The latest cache xfce4-session, the session is now OK.
