Description Peter Bjørn Jørgensen 2008-08-27 12:15:09 CEST
Overview:
The datetime plugin does not startup in the layout that it has been configured to. When set to "Time Only" it will show both the time and date for a few seconds when started up, and then it changes to the right setting.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Add datetime plugin to the panel
2) Change layout format to 'Time Only'
3) Restart your system

The plugin will show both date AND time for some seconds on startup.

I'm running xfce 4.4.2 on Arch Linux

Thanks for the bug report, Peter. I couldn't easily reproduce that on my system. Which version of datetime are you running? Which version of GTK? What time format are you using?

gtk2 2.12.11-3
gtk 1.2.10-8
xfce4-datetime-plugin 0.5.0-4

Maybe the bug is fixed in the 0.6 version of the plugin.

I forgot to mention that I use 23:59 time format.

Would you mind trying the 0.6 version of the plugin? I changed quite a bit of relevant code for that release.

The bug seems to be fixed with the 0.6 version of the plugin.
The only probel with the 0.6 version is that, there is a big margin of free space around the text, so it requires much more space than necessary, thus expanding the xfce-panel. This is probably due to the use of the gtk-toggle-button.
Comment 6 Diego Ongaro 2008-09-06 16:31:46 CEST
Since the reported bug was fixed with 0.6, I'm closing it as invalid.

If you insist, please create a new bug for the plugin taking up too much space. It'd be helpful for you to attach screenshots comparing the two versions so I can see what you mean.
