User-Agent: BlackBerry8120/4.5.0.52 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/125 Build Identifier: When opening directories with lots of files, ie the i386 directorie from an XP CD where most of the files are not previewable anyway but, where there's a few thousand files the thumbnailer plugin tends to lock up and take forever or crash completely. Can an option be added to prevent it running on directories with more than a specific number of files to resolve this? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Enable thumbnailer and open i386 directory form XP install CD, or similar file count, in thunar. Actual Results: Thunar and plugin crashing. Expected Results: Slight delay then complete file list.
That sounds strange: the thumbnailers will only be run on files they can thumbnail. For example if you open /usr/bin (which typically has an enormous number of files) then the thumbnailers just sit idle. Unfortunately I do not actually have an XP CD on me to try this out (I might get a friend to try it soon though). Could you please give me the output of running an "ls -l" command in the i386 directory? Thanks.
Closing as thunar-thumbnailer is deprecated/unmaintained/replaced by tumbler.
