For some people it preferredly to have only automount, not aotoopen. But there is no such option in configuration tools of Fxce. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert removable media when your in Xfce or only open Thunar in Gnome and test it. Actual Results: The Thunar window appears and shows content of inserted media. Expected Results: Only mnount media, not open any file manager window.
This is thunar-volman component, and at least on 0.2.0 (and previous) you have a interface to set those options. See in menu / settings / removable drives and media. Cheers,

Sorry, admit I am absent-minded. And I offer to add this config in common settings manager, specially for absent-minded ;-).
I think the option in the Thunar preferences could be improved visually, for instance it should be a clearly visible button, instead of a link. It *is* somewhat confusing the way it looks currently.
