I experience a problem with the mailwatch panel plugin. When I boot my PC and log in to my xfce desktop (Xubuntu) the mailwatch plugin is loaded, of course. Saddenly I don't have an internet connection at this point of time. Instead (and I think this to be a useful measurement) I have give a password to the gnome keyring. Not until that password is given, a wireless lan connection is established and with that an internet connection. In the meantime, I guess, the mailwatch plugin tries to connect to the remote IMAP mail boxes. It can't reach them, so it gives out error messages like these two: - a secure connection was requested, but gnutls was not initialised - getaddrinfo(): no address associated with hostname Even after getting connected to the internet, the error messages won't go away. If I clear the logs, this red and white traffic sign dissappears only for a short moment. After that it appears again and the log fills up with those error messages again. So, but if log out and log in again (the wireless lan and internet connection remain active during that procedure) there will no problem at all, and no error messages will appear. I have tried this several times, and the results are always the same. Do you have an idea how to delay the first mailbox contact trial? Or do you have another solution? Thanks a lot.
I have to admit, I hoped for a short response at least. :(
I don't have this problem at all... my wireless isn't up until after Xfce starts either, and yeah, the first connect attempt fails, but it's fine after my wireless gets connected. Maybe the version you're using just has issues; it's been a long time since the last release, and I've made many changes since then.
Does this problem still appear with 1.1.0?
Hi there I just installed mailwatch. I have gotten this exact problem with 1.1.0, but I'm using Gmail. The error I get is, that it can't connect to mail.google.com or something like that. If I log out and in again, it connects fine. Forcing "Update Now" doesn't work - I still see a red cross.
I have a similar issue: Version 1.1.0 works as long as the network is on line. Once one pulls the plug and reconnects, it won't recover. Appearance: - suspend/resume - hibernate/resume - nm-applet disconnect/connect - ifdown eth0 && ifup eth0 Type of remote mailbox is irrelevant, selected socket is.
