Now we are in 4.4 era, and it seems categories still are wrongly set. As I understand it, Science shouln't be a topleve="true" category, but rather be under Education. The bug reporter failed to give us a .desktop file exposing the problem, nor gave us strong arguments about what is broken by this config, but it sure would be nice to have a spec-compliant menu wrt. this issue, in any case. I know that the menu code is already beeing rewritten for 4.6, but just in case… Cheers,
There's no "wrong" here -- the 4.4 menu doesn't claim to be completely fd.o-compliant. The toplevel categories were picked by me based on personal preference. With 4.6, I'm not really working on this anymore. Certainly I'm not doing fixes without patches.
