Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Save a session 2. Restart the PC a few times Actual Results: Session is still there Expected Results: All contents of ~/.cache should be erased when a session is restored I couldn't figure out why compiz kept starting after I removed it from 'autostarted applications'. It turned out to be my saved session from a few weeks ago...lol Here's the session "" if it helps - [Session: Default] Client0_ClientId=117f000001000119230763400000111880002 Client0_Hostname=local/tux Client0_CloneCommand=Thunar Client0_DiscardCommand=rm,-f,/home/pariksheet/.cache/sessions/Thunar-117f000001000119230763400000111880002 Client0_Priority=24 Client0_Program=Thunar Client0_RestartCommand=Thunar,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119230763400000111880002,--daemon Client0_UserId=pariksheet Client1_ClientId=117f000001000119230763500000111880003 Client1_Hostname=local/tux Client1_CloneCommand=xfdesktop,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119230763500000111880003,--display,:0.0 Client1_CurrentDirectory=/home/pariksheet Client1_Priority=35 Client1_Program=xfdesktop Client1_RestartCommand=xfdesktop,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119230763500000111880003,--display,:0.0 Client1_UserId=pariksheet Client2_ClientId=117f000001000119230763400000111880001 Client2_Hostname=local/tux Client2_CloneCommand=xfce4-panel,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119230763400000111880001,--display,:0.0 Client2_CurrentDirectory=/home/pariksheet Client2_Priority=40 Client2_Program=xfce4-panel Client2_RestartCommand=xfce4-panel,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119230763400000111880001,--display,:0.0 Client2_UserId=pariksheet Client3_ClientId=117f000001000119256814900000052350000 Client3_Hostname=local/tux Client3_CloneCommand=orage,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119256814900000052350000,--display,:0.0 Client3_CurrentDirectory=/home/pariksheet Client3_Program=orage Client3_RestartCommand=orage,--sm-client-id,117f000001000119256814900000052350000,--display,:0.0 Client3_UserId=pariksheet Count=4 Legacy0_Screen=0 Legacy0_Command=compiz,--replace,--sm-disable,--ignore-desktop-hints,ccp,--loose-binding,--indirect-rendering Legacy0_ClientMachine=tux LegacyCount=1 Screen0_ActiveWorkspace=0 LastAccess=1194127744
This isn't a bug. If you remove an app from your session and don't save the session, it will remain in your session. Files don't get arbitrarily removed from ~/.cache/ -- they remain there until you delete them. The idea of that folder is just that it's data you can clean out or don't need to back up, and probably won't miss.
