I'm using HPLIP 2.7.10 with CUPS 1.3.3 and Xfce 4.4.1 (my distro is ArchLinux with everything up to date). I've noticed some bugs in xfprint4: 1) If my printer is unplugged then xfprint4 freezes when I'm pressing "Print" button (is this some kind of feature?). 2) Strange behavior while checking "Print to file" and "Print to" radiobuttons. Some steps to reproduce: a) Run xfprint4 (and select some file to print) and you'll see that "Print to" (print to some physical printer) radiobutton is checked. b) Select "Print to file" and then select "Print to" again. You'll see that some tabs (sheets, virtual pages, etc) are still enabled (they were disabled when "Print to" radiobutton was checked). Printing does not work in this case (nothing will be sent to printer, but it xfprint4 will finish with error "client-error-bad-request" & "An error occurred while trying to print the file").
I can't set Apply to filter check button off, I used root too but the button stay checked and I need to uncheck it. So when I right clic on image icon and send to print, I can't print it cause my settings aren't kept.
xfprint is no longer maintained as a part of xfce - it's not expected to work, best I recall based on the discussions surrounding the decision to abandon it.
