User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20061201 Epiphany/2.18 Firefox/2.0.0.6 (Ubuntu-feisty) Build Identifier: This was reported on Launchpad : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunar/+bug/107392 by : https://bugs.launchpad.net/~jhansonxi Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right-click a file and select Open With Other Application 2. Select a new unassociated application to open the file 3. Right-click the file again Result: New application not listed 4. Select any other file and then re-select the original file again. 5. Right-click the file Result: New associated application now shows up in list I can still reproduce it with Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Tribe 4 In some cases the list will never update even if a new app is selected as default. For instance, I right-clicked on an SMI file and selected Helix to be the default player. Helix opened it (but failed to play due to an unsupported protocol) but right-clicking it again did not show Helix as being the default, only Firefox. With other file types it was erratic, sometimes showing the association change immediately, sometimes only after trying a different file and then returning. It maybe related to MIME types specified in the desktop files (/usr/share/applications). The SMI file attached is what I used and it only plays with RealPlayer. I also tested WMV and MPEG files. Looks fixed in master.
