User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060901 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: when thunar is open and you currently have no ~/Desktop folder and you either mkdir ~/Desktop or set desktop icon settings to files/launcher which creates ~/Desktop too, then the shortcut to Desktop in the side pane is not created until thunar is restarted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.start thunar 2.rm -r ~/Desktop 3.mkdir ~/Desktop Actual Results: Desktop is removed from sidepane on rm -r ~/Desktop but not readded Expected Results: on mkdir ~/Desktop or setting icon settings for xfdesktop to files/launcher the Desktop shortcut should be created in the current thunar session.
I don't think this is really necessary now. Maybe in the future when the default items in the side pane are configurable. But this is simply not important enough to add new monitoring code for a case that doesn't happen 99% of the time, because either the distribution includes a properly setup /etc/skel with a Desktop folder, or xfdesktop created the folder on startup. BTW: You don't need to restart Thunar. It suffices to close all windows.
ok, i can live with that since i don't use desktop icons myself anyway but i just found it and thought i report it ;) btw: by restarting i meant closing the window and open it again.
