If you open the properties dialog for a file with a size of 2G or bigger then the dialog disappears immediately after opening. The file then also disappears from the icon/listview. Pressing <ctrl-r> shows the file again in the icon/listview. I am using the 0.3.3svn-22728 build on Zenwalk Linux.
It's certainly not a crash then. But that sounds a lot like FAM or Gamin (depends on which of those you are using) cannot handle large files properly and tells Thunar that the file was deleted.
My system uses FAM. It's not on the "known bugs" list of FAM. (Not that that says much.)
It's easy to verify: Kill famd and check if it still closes the properties dialog.
Yes, killing famd "solved" the problem. No hope FAM is going to be fixed though. (No development in three years AFAIK.)
Well, you could use Gamin instead of FAM, or ask your distributor to patch FAM to support large files on Linux too (shouldn't be that hard, maybe googling for a patch will do the trick).
