One of my favorite features in thunar is it's handling of removable devices through HAL and DBUS. I use the mount/unmount functonality with my USB Flash Drive. I think it would be nice if the icon for such devices could be dimmed or have a red "X" over them or something when they are unmounted. Right now I just right click the icon to see if it's unmounted and this works fine. No rush on this, just think it would be a nice feature for users of USB Flash Drives. Thank you for you hard work on XFCE and Thunar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
There do not seem to exist a "mounted" state icon in the new icon spec, nor in the GNOME icon spec. Maybe you can bring up this discussion on the xfce4-dev mailinglist or the xdg-list first, to see what other people think about this. A cross-desktop solution with a themable icon would be preferable IMHO.

KDE which I have switched to and am quite happy with does this with no problem. It simply adds a little green triangle in the bottom right corner of the device icon. Having to right click a device icon to see if it is still mounted is inelegant. Seems like you guy just keep bumping this to further releases. I don't really care anymore. XFCE is nice, especially on older computers with limited resources and is much better than GNOME. XFCE is becoming the new better GNOME, please don't allow XFCE to become too GNOME like.
Hi there! I hoped Thunar 0.9.0 could bring this new feature :) What about just coloring the icon? red or green or white, whatever you like! It's important to let the user know when the mount / umount operation has finished. I would be very happy to have this feature, if possible, of course. I take the occasion to thank once again XFCE developers for all the work they do! Best regards! A
This is implemented in SVN trunk. Icons of volumes not mounted yet have 50% transparency now.
MM never seen this bug, we should put the bug number in the NEWS file though.
