Hi, I think Thunar needs a mediainfo plugin. It is the only major feature I miss on Xfce (Xubuntu). People expect to see a certain amount of information about a file when they open "Properties" window. While Thunar can provide enough information about common image files, it can't provide any information about common audio/video files. I know about the separate mediainfo software but the experience is not integrated. Caja has this ability with the "caja-mediainfo" plugin (which gets pre-installed on Ubuntu Mate). I'm hoping to see the same functionality on Xfce (Xubuntu). Thank you for your really great work!
Have haver such a thing .. you tried the thunar-media-tags-plugin ?
Thank you, yes I tried the thunar-media-tags-plugin but the functionality is of media tags plugin and mediainfo is not the same. Mediatags plugin doesn't show any information about the media file from properties window. It only lets me edit/add data about the audio track (artist., title, genre etc.).
Ok, thanbks for clarification .. than guess we could need such a plugin :) Note that I dont have time to work on that myself, though I can help with questions / review, if you like !
