As discussed elsewhere, if we want to drop GTK+2 support, I've made a commit that does that: https://github.com/codebrainz/mousepad/commit/4d470a9b68af4e547f3ce7c3380d51dd7b257fce If we want to do it, probably the sooner the better to find any bugs introduced. I have to talk to someone about getting my SSH key fixed so I just put it on my Github mirror for now.
I tested the patch and can confirm that it does the job.
The README file should be updated too.
