I have automatic session saving disabled and purged ~/.cache/sessions before a reboot. Now I have a lot of xfwm4-* and Thunar-* in ~/.cache/sessions/. Thunar -q cleans up after itself but neither thunar nor xfwm4 do after a regular session log off. I can do a cron job script that purges those files so this isn't a major issue but I will be glad if a developer can spare time to take a look and debug this.
If I open Mousepad and do not close the window before session logout, a xfwm4 .state file will be present on the next login.
