When I take screenshot then select it to "Copy to the clipboard" and then try to paste it to Facebook post nothing is pasted. How ever I can paste it to other programs for example to Kolourpaint KDE paint program. Then in if in Kolourpaint I select all and copy, after that paste also works to Facebook running on Firefox. So what ever is Xfce4-screenshooter doing in "Copy to clipboard" should do the same as Kolourpaint Select-all/Copy. Steps to reproduce: 1) Start Xfce4-screenshotter 2) Select region 3) Action: Copy to the clipboard 4) In Facebook running on Firefox, do paste in new FB post Expected results: Clipboard picture is pasted to FB post Actual results: Nothing is pasted. Tested on: XUbuntu 19.04 / x86_64
Works for me on almost every web application I use (e.g. Slack, Hangouts, Whatsapp...). I don't have a facebook account, if you happen to find a public webapp that it's possible to reproduce the problem, please let me know.
I don't have FB either, but Firefox has this FB container thing that isolates it. Maybe that's influencing?
It looks like it is randomly sometimes working and sometimes not. Have not yet recoved the exact cases. Anyway, as said if you use KDE Kolourpaint and in that do select all (picture) and then copy / paste, it is always working to FB.
(In reply to Petri Airio from comment #3) > Anyway, as said if you use KDE Kolourpaint and in that do select all > (picture) and then copy / paste, it > is always working to FB. Are you using Kolourpaint in KDE or Xfce? Can you try gnome-screenshot? Does it make any difference when using chrome/chromium (or any other non-gecko browser)?
Okay now did some more tests. Looks like it is Facebook bug. For me FB works like this 1) take screenshot, save to clipboard 2) start firefox, open facebook and do Create post 3) Ctrl-v to the post -> first one do not paste the picture 4) Ctrl-v again to the post -> now screen shot appears to post ..
Ok, I'm closing this report, please reopen if you think there is something to fix/improve on our side.
