Created attachment 8675 example pyridine as .svg, rendered differently (with serifs) The observation is quite similar to the one just deposit as a bug for the image viewer «eye of gnome» under https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/issues/65 I have a number of chemical structures plot by openbabel natively in the .svg format. Despite these include the explicit statement to render characters in a non-serif format, ristretto displays them with serifs. So far, I do not see an option to instruct ristretto «differently»; to the best of my current knowledge, only cairosvg offering a conversion to .pdf or inkscape interpret the corresponding line correctly. System setup: Xubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 64 bit, cairosvg 2.4.0, ristretto 0.8.2
Created attachment 8676 Example with other characters incorrectly rendered with serifs. Intent is to show the rendering, chemically speaking such a molecule is unlikely to exist.
Created attachment 8677 correct rendering by cairosvg After a successful conversion of testing.svg by cairosvg testing.svg -o testing.pdf with sans-serifs characters.
Leaving Xubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, the issue is absent in the more recent release of ristretto 0.8.3. The issue no longer is relevant, and this thread shall be closed. No further action by the maintainers is necessary.
