Right click desktop Select Create document The last menu item (in xubuntu) says Empty File. But the default name for the file is New File. From xfdesktop: msgid "_Empty File" msgstr "_Tom fil" Thunar: msgid "New File" msgstr "Ny fil" Not sure those are the correct strings but perhaps "_Empty File" should be changed to "_New File" so they are the same apart from the "_"?
In both Thunar and xfdesktop the menu entry is named "Empty File", so changing that in xfdesktop would create an inconsistency.
Note that the dialog window is provided by Thunar. https://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/tree/thunar/thunar-application.c#n1798
Maybe its not so bad after all with new/empty. But when you create a new folder its just "create folder". So my logic tells me create file should be the same style. Like "Create document">"File". Because its not called "Create empty folder" when creating a new folder. I need a brake thinking about this to much. Maybe putting the 4 "Create..." menu items into a sub menu would solve part of this. So instead of: Create _Launcher... Create _URL Link... Create _Folder... Create _Document Have: Create _Launcher _URL Link _Folder --------- _custom 1 _custom 2 _custom 3 --------- _Document But maybe because i use Windows 7 which have a New menu like that.
