Hi,

I am using Debian testing with a Gnome desktop environment. Since upgrade from 1.6.15 to 1.8.1, Thunar segfaults when used under Wayland. Last ugrade to 1.8.2 did not fix the issue, despite the 1.8.2 changelog saying so. Debian maintainer asked me to report this issue here.

For reference, see Debian bugs for 1.8.1 (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=910353) and 1.8.2 (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=910595).

Do not hesitate to ask if I can help you in any way.

Thanks for your time and work,
Yvan

Thanks for reporting!

I dont use wayland. It would help me alot if you could generate a backtrace of the crash.

There is a "Backtraces" section in the xfce -wiki, which has a link to debian-specific info:

On a Fedora 29 VM, Thunar 1.8.2 is working well on a Gnome/Wayland session.
As Alex asked, a backtrace would be very helpful.
With coredumpctl should be easier to obtain a backtrace.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, I have been very busy.

I just updated my system and the issue is fixed. One of the Thunar dependencies was probably not recent enough on my system, and I think it is libthunarx-3-0, upgraded from 1.8.1-1 to 1.8.2-1.

Best regards,
Yvan Masson
