Hello, in most modern apps (e.g. Firefox, Nautilus) the "Ctrl+=" (<Primary>equal) keyboard shortcut is working exactly like the "Ctrl++" (<Primary>plus) one, so it enlarges icons/website. And I think that it's a very user-friendly behaviour. You can just hold Control and change the view with 0, - and = easily. Unfortunately enlarging in Thunar works only with "Shift+Ctrl+=" My suggestion: both shortcuts - "Ctrl++" and "Ctrl+=" should work the same. And I think, if possible, that only "Ctrl++" should be visible as a shortcut in the View menu (as it is now), "Ctrl+=" should just work "in the background", as a fallback.
