Setting the mail reader to Claws mail doesn't do anything. A Thunderbird windows always opens and ask to setup an account. BTW Thunderbird is not shown in my menu at all.
I can confirm, same problem here. I have thunderbird, which is desired. Since recently email links pop up as evolution, which is not desired. Settings -> Settings Manager -> Preferred Applications does absolutely nothing. Version 4.12 AMD64 Gentoo
forgot to mention, evolution got installed just recently too.
It is handled by exo-preferred-applications / exo-open, not libxfce4ui, reassigning
I can't reproduce. thunderbird/claws mail installed, if I select Thunderbird in "Settings -> Settings Manager -> Preferred Applications", thunderbird is run for mail, and same for Claws Mail. Which version of "exo" do you have ? What is the output of ".config/xfce4/helpers.rc" What is run wtih "exo-open --launch MailReader" Does it work with xdg-open random@email.com ? Also check your "~/.config/mimeapps.list" file
Hi, exo-preferred-applications does nothing but gives me the following console message : /usr/bin/exo-preferred-applications: 11: exec: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/exo-1/exo-helper-1: not found This appends after an upgrade from Ubuntu 18.10 to 19.04, I use libexo-helpers 0.12.4-1.
Ok, solved using this workaround: http://debian.2.n7.nabble.com/Bug-892010-exo-utils-exo-preferred-applications-does-not-run-with-error-quot-exo-helper-1-not-found--td4289016.html
It is now fixed since https://git.xfce.org/xfce/exo/commit/?id=de2d50f242299b8d6ea9945b91eff23585e6f091 ! Thank you for the report.
Great, thanks!
