Please enable placement of desktop icons on the monitor of choice in a multi-monitor setup. Currently, because the desktop in a multiple-monitor setup is seen as one large monitor, desktop icons by default appear on the far left-hand monitor. It would be useful to be able to have the desktop icons appear on any monitor, e.g., center or right, as well as left. This feature is available in MS Windows and in KDE (Folder View). It has also been implemented in Cinnamon, but in Cinnamon the feature does not work very well as of yet. Thank you for considering this feature request for the Xfce desktop.

This works for me with xfdesktop 4.13.5, and even the following limitation is not reproducible: https://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/commit/?id=f9aee748cd5d3e1587852743b39409ddbac64df8
Thanks to the Xfce developers! Today, I added the Xubutu developer's staging PPA to my Linux Mint Xfce 19.2 LTS installation and upgraded my Xfce to 4.14. Now, I am able to choose to put the desktop icons on the primary monitor. This way, I can see the desktop icons on any monitor in my triple-monitor setup by designating the monitor as the primary one. This did cause some other glitches, such as not being able to install the trash applet or the screenshot applet on the panel, but I found workarounds for these issues. I am very pleased that the desktop icons issue has apparently been solved. I hope that the Mint developers will incorporate Xfce 4.14 soon, so that users will not need to use a PPA.
