I'm having issues opening links on the software manager, system links (for example links inside About tab in the apps) and setting Chrome as default, on Linux Mint XFCE 18.3 and Manjaro XFCE 17.1-rc1. - Linux Mint XFCE 18.3 (not sure what Xfce version): When I open a link on Mint it launches Firefox even though the default browser is Chrome. I partially solved this removing Firefox, and after that all links open on Chrome. OK, not ideal, but it works. Check https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=259789 for details. - Manjaro XFCE (Xfce 4.12.4 (Gtk 2.24.31): When I open links on Pamac(Manjaro software manager) or other links throughout the system, they opens normally on Chrome but that little pop-up shows up saying "Chrome is not your default browser", I set Chrome as default but the issue never goes away, the pop-up keeps appearing. On "Preferred Apps" the browser is set to use "google-chrome-stable", but everytime that pop-up shows up as if Chrome is not my default browser.
A new one from Manjaro: I just tried to open the website of About section of Docky (the "anchor icon" on the dock > About > Website), and after clicking on the link a pop-up showed up asking to choose my default web browser. I've chosen Chrome again, and the Chrome launched and showed the pop-up asking about default again.
I've found a solution, please mark as closed. Not sure if the issue have anything to do with Xfce.
Thanks for following up. Closing bug report.
