My system is Xubuntu 16.04 on a i5-3550 (x86_64) ) : Linux 4.10.0-33-generic #37~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 11 14:07:24 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux After updating xfce to 4.12.2 the following occurred cycling through windows with Alt+Tab worked, but Alt+Shift+Tab did not change the direction, it kept in the same direction as if I was hitting only Alt+Tab. I have experimented with various settings with the settings editor, relevant file: ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts.xml In the following KeyX is a random non-meta key ( eg "G" or "Tab" ). Setting /xfwm4/custom/<Alt>KeyX to "ActionA" and /xfwm4/custom/<Alt><Shift>KeyX to "ActionB", results in the following: Alt+KeyX produces ActionA Alt+ShifT+KeyX produces again ActionA ( instead of ActionB ). If Super is used instead of Alt, there is no problem, Super+KeyX produces a different action from Super+Shift+KeyX as configured. I haven't filed many bug reports, so pardon if it is inadequate, please feel free to scorn or ignore it. BR, DGenov
Hi Guys, I pinppointed the problem. If you use the alt+shift combination, than all alt+shift+otherkey combinations are void. I haven't tested it with sub combinations other than alt+shift, but probably the result will be the same. I guess this is the proper functionality anyway. There should be a warning somewhere though ;) Sorry if I wasted your time on this. BR, DGenov
