Created attachment 7094 Patch solving described problem My system locale is koi8-r. Single byte. Thunar works in a good way whith it. Almost. If there is no russian's letters in path line. location bar line still works perfect. But in the location bar mode there are some misunderstandings leads to "fffd" symbols in address line. And completion does'nt work also. I am solve this little problem as I understand, and send you a patch.
I have noticed misprint. Location button works perfect. Bug is in location bar - text path line.
Sorry for the late reply ! And thanks for the patch ! Actually the patch looks good and reasonable, however I failed to reproduce the bug so far. I copied + pasted different cyrillic characters from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KOI8-R inside a foldername. Than I opened the folder with location-bar and/or with toolbar and/or with "open location" .. but no "fffd" for me. If you remember, could you please tell in detail which characters you used and what to do to reproduce the problem ?
