I have a Thunar package for my distro for version 1.6.11 which appears to bundle the Trash Applet. Some times even if the trash folder is empty the icon still shows full, even after repeated attempts to trigger an empty. I am not a hundred percent sure if this is a problem with the applet, a failure somewhere in gvfsd-trash, or perhaps in the communication between the two.
Thanks for reporting ! - Thunar 1.6.11 is ancient software which will be out of maintenance soon .. could you please try to reproduce the bug with some up-to date version, like thunar 1.8.9 ? Best would be if you could compile & try to reproduce it with master. I currently cannot reproduce the bug with master .. but well, maybe I just did not try hard enough. - Could you please give some concrete steps to trigger the bug ? Is it sufficient to trash a single file and than empty the trash to trigger the bug ? If the bug only occurs occasionally, how many attempts you roughly need to trigger it ?
Hey alexxcons. I have Thunar 1.8.9 installed. I haven't seen this issue pop up in quite some time. If I do see it again I will try to take note of steps to reproduce and report back here.
Thanks for the reply ! Uh, I just noticed that this issue if from 2017 ... sorry for the huge delay :F Actually I have no idea why it poped up in my RSS feed recently. Probably the bug is gone. I ported TPA to gtk3 a long while ago and as well fixed some bugs on it iirc. I'll just close the bug for now. Feel free to reopen if the bug still exists !
