theoretically the shortcuts represent locations on the filesystem, therefore the obvious thoughtpattern is that some actions should be possible with directories listed in the shortcuts pane. One of the most obvious ones is DnD (the Dropping of files on them). This may lead to a large amount of unrelated problems - dropping a directory onto another one already in there may be ambiguous.
