Hi, I'm in the process of upgrading wavelan plugin in Debian, and it seems that the plugin doesn't display anything here. My wireless card (wlan0) is working fine but the panel plugin doesn't even appear in the panel (or maybe 1px wide but I can't even select it). It seems that there's no preference window so I can't check if there's something wrong there. .xsession-errors shows: (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type 'GtkWidget' (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot add class private field to invalid type '<invalid>' (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot add private field to invalid (non-instantiatable) type '<invalid>' (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_add_interface_static: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_INSTANTIATABLE (instance_type)' failed (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type 'GtkBuildable' (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_interface_add_prerequisite: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_INTERFACE (interface_type)' failed (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion 'result != 0' failed (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_add_interface_static: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_INSTANTIATABLE (instance_type)' failed (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_register_static: assertion 'parent_type > 0' failed (wrapper-1.0:9172): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot add private field to invalid (non-instantiatable) type '<invalid>'
Downgrading to 0.5.12 works fine.
wrapper-1.0 ? something's wrong in the .desktop file for the plugin on your side, because as X-XFCE-API is set to 2.0, it should load with wrapper-2.0...
I tried to restart the panel before adding the plugin after the upgrade and it seems to work so maybe it was just a transient error.
That's also what i think, in that case there might be a bug in the panel itself which doesnt detect that a gtk2 plugin was replaced by a gtk3 plugin when reloading desktop files upon change.....
