If Thunar window's is closed during syncing, notification disappears before syncing is done. If the user disconnects a usb key, filesystem can be corrupted. steps : open a thunar window copy a large file (linux vfs will cache it) to a usb disk with thunar just after unmount the disk => notification appears close the thunar window => notification disappears => if the usb disk have an activity led, it can be active several seconds after the notification disappeared. I'm not sure if it's a notification bug, a gvfs bug or a thunar one but it's very inconvenient because ntfs on linux is not very resilient to this type of things. Maybe this should be handle directly by thunar ? $ apt-cache show thunar | grep -i version Version: 1.6.10-2ubuntu1 rafi@Seliote:/tmp$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Release: 16.04 Codename: xenial $ mkdir -p /tmp/toDel1/toDel2
