I've loose short keys on top right corner of Whisker menu, only Setting parameters appears. After fresh install, it was 3 short keys don't know which exactly, but one was to select Power Off, Hibernate, Restart, etc. This option disappears. Where can I find it, and why it disappears? In Properties / Commands are only options : All Settings, Lock Screen, Switch User, Log Out, Edit App, Edit Profile, not for the different way to turn Off. Sorry for my bad English... Philippe from France P.S: xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin is version 1.5.1 used on Xubuntu V 16.04
(In reply to Phil17 from comment #0) It will only disappear if you disable it. There is a checkbox next to "Log Out" on the Commands page, and if it is not checked it will not show the dialog you are talking about. Is the checkbox set? And if it is, is the command set to "xfce4-session-logout"?
Thanks for your answer. Here is a screen copy of all commands settings. All checkbox and command are set to "default".
(In reply to Phil17 from comment #2) Unfortunately, the screenshot you provided is not of the commands tab. Here is an example of the commands tab set to the default values: http://goodies.xfce.org/_media/projects/panel-plugins/whiskermenu-options-03.png
Oups !! Sorry, here is the correct screenshot : http://imgur.com/RX5ob4jl.png
(In reply to Phil17 from comment #4) Oh, I see! The icon is there, but doesn't do anything? Unfortunately, that is not a bug in Whisker Menu. It sounds like a deeper problem with your Xfce install: the command xfce4-session-logout is actually part of xfce4-session. What happens when you run the command from a terminal?
Well, I'm not very easy with Terminal, Xubuntu and Linux, I come from Windows 7 and want desperately switch to the right side of the Force. In Terminal, xfce4-session-logout returns to close my session, opening a logon menu to input my password. Entering my password open a new session, but memory of previous opened windows or soft are forgotten. Here is a screenshot of logon menu. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_gArPbfER1KNWdiVmFIU2EyTUE I must take a photo because impossible to print screen. On top, you can see on the right icons; Those icons can switch to Xubuntu/Xfce, language, ?, date and Turn Off options. You says "its a deeper problem", but it seems I create this problem (and don't know how...) because in the beginning of the session, I remember having this button to switch to the "Off" menu options...

Well, that's easy enough to change! In the settings manager, open the "Session and Startup" section and check the box next to "Prompt on logout". Now it should bring the dialog back. Does that fix it?
I've check the box before opening windows and make a screenshot : No it doesn't work : http://i.imgur.com/rOG7v1z.png Sorry !
(In reply to Phil17 from comment #8) > I've check the box before opening windows and make a screenshot : > No it doesn't work : > http://i.imgur.com/rOG7v1z.png > > Sorry ! Hmm. Well, as I said, this is a not bug in Whisker Menu as the dialog is actually a different program. I don't know why xfce4-session-logout isn't showing for you. I'm sorry. I think you should try one of the links at https://xubuntu.org/help/ for help.
Hi, Graeme, I've found what and where, but not WHY ! ;-) Screenshot : http://i.imgur.com/AkpW9hm.png Menu Whisker MUST have "/usr/bin/xfce4-session-logout" path to work properly on my computer. To modify the "Logout Icon", I must "click-right" on Whisker Menu, then choose "Modify Application" to change the icon. Little remark, it seems in this new windows the position of the icons are not like in the Whisker Menu. One more possibility to be confused... I don't know why this icon was modified and why the directory change too. In my mind, coming from Windows, this way to work and select is a bit confusing because there are different panel I must open, and there is no possibility to check before use, clicking on "Close" apply the change. Confusing and maybe the cause of my "bug". Anyway, I'll pay more attention when modifying anything in Xubuntu... Many thanks for your help, Best Regards from France, Philippe
(In reply to Phil17 from comment #10) That's certainly interesting! I'm glad you figured out what was wrong. Odd that it needs the absolute path for one command and not for the others. I wonder how your $PATH is being ignored, as Whisker Menu uses g_spawn_command_line_async() to search through each $PATH entry to find the correct executable.
I'll try to find why the correct path was ignored. Remark : I've experienced a lot of troubles when installing (and re-installing...) Xubuntu on my computer and even it was possible to install a 64 bits version I have never been able to install Xubuntu 16.04 64 bits version. OK when testing on USB stick, but installing not working... See screenshot : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_gArPbfER1KVkthbmVVQkhHTFE OK, I let you help other peoples, I'll try to find by myself my small troubles. Many thanks again, Philippe
