File names for files and folders on desktop are ellipsized on very few characters, making it impossible to see the whole file name (and in most cases even guessing what it is) unless clicking on the icon, which is cumbersome and requires trial and error when you don't suspect which one is the one you wanted. Please, make it configurable to see the whole file names on desktop, as I suspect was the original behaviour before XFCE 2, or at least let the user enter the minimum number of characters shown on file names by default when ellipsized.
