Open Thunar in Terminal (for logs) 2. Open a text file with a text editor (I'm using Mousepad) 3. Change something in the text file in your text editor 4. Save the changes in your text editor 5. Thunar will crash with no other error aside from what's in the Terminal
Sorry for the late reply! I cannot reproduce this bug. Neither with thunar 1.6.11, nor with master. Could you please take a try with thunar 1.6.11 or newer and check if it still happens for you ? If so, does it always happen, or only occasionally ?
Since there is no further information, I will close the bug for now. Please feel free to reopen if it is still an issue for you !
The bug is in Glib, not Thunar. You can close this as NOTOURBUG (or similar) if you wish. Upstream bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bug/1494897 Farther upstream bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776147
Ok, thanks for the info ! I quess WONTFIX than matches the best.
Here's another update: this has been fixed upstream, in glib version 2.56 and higher. This can be marked as fully "fixed" as long as XFCE requires glib version 2.56 or higher.
Thanks for the details ! Currently the thunar requirements say: glib 2.42.0 or higher for master and 4.14 branch.
