According to https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8993, xflock4 can now start any screensaver/screenlocker. As I know, xfce4-power-manager will automatically invoke xflock4 when system is going to sleep (by the way, am I right?). It would be great, if we had an option to make xflock4 invoke automatically if user is idle for some time. If we have such option, it will be easy to integrate light-weight lockers (such as i3lock, slock, physlock) with xfce. Though they do not handle sleep or autolocking, we will be able to make xflock4 launch one of these screensavers, and xfce4-power-manager will launch xflock4 1.) when system is going to sleep. 2.) when user is idle for N minutes. I am really looking forward to this feature. Thanks in advance!
Most screensavers have such an option and with xfce4-screensaver and light-locker even two prominent solutions that are used frequently along with Xfce. From my point of view it doesn't help the user to have yet another timer running - especially if the user forgets that he has configured e.g. the power manager and the screensaver itself to lock at different timeouts.
