I miss in the keyboard settings the option to enable writing of special Esperanto characters (ĉ,ĝ,ĥ,ĵ,ŝ,ŭ) by pressing an "alt gr" key and a key with particular letter without the diacritics (c,g,h,j,u). Because of this I had to recommend to some people GNOME or MATE instead. I know about the proper Esperanto keyboard layout, but it isn't comfortable for some people switch between their own QWERTZ keyboard to QWERTY with Esperanto characters (even on "bad" positions - q,w, and similar). More about the Esperanto alphabet you can found at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto_orthography>.
